Many areas exist mostly in the hearts of the residents, such as Carytown or The Museum District, and appear on the map as a courtesy. While these names are what locals are familiar with, very few can tell you where they begin and end.

Richmond offers a variety of transportation options, from public transit to biking, driving, and ridesharing, making it easy to navigate its vibrant neighborhoods, historic sites, and natural attractions. Richmond is bike-friendly, with dedicated lanes and the GRTC Pulse bus system for easy commuting. Parking is generally straightforward, but consider a bike or scooter for exploring downtown. GRTC Pulse: This Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line runs 7.6 miles along Broad and Main Streets, connecting Rocketts Landing to Willow Lawn. It’s a fast, frequent option for accessing downtown, the Fan District, and major neighborhoods. The Pulse operates every 10-15 minutes during peak hours.
Local Bus Routes: GRTC operates numerous routes covering key areas like Church Hill, the East End, and Manchester.
